2014 Green Party candidate for Congress form Michigan's 10th District.
I am running for Congress because I believe voters deserve a real choice. You only need to drive around our district and see all the windmills to know the country is moving in a Green direction. By voting Green you are saying you want our country to move in a Green direction even faster.
It should be evident to voters that our involvement in Iraq has gained us little yet we are back on a path towards expanding our involvement there. My first priority would be to say no to war and unnecessary new weapons systems.
It is not our teacher’s fault our schools are not as good as they should be. We need more teachers. We need to start our children in school at younger age and our schools should operate 24hours a day seven days a week. My second priority would be to provide federal money to hire one million new teachers nationally.
The private sector has not been able to provide the new jobs for our young people; the private sector is eliminating jobs. There are plenty of things that need to be done; the government should provide money to do the things that need to be done. We can provide jobs and still move towards a balanced budget by cutting defense spending, eliminating welfare programs, and increasing taxes on people who are well off. My third priority would be to provide jobs for everyone who wants one.
